CHARACTERISTICS

Type of material

Metal
Ferromagnetic

Composition

Aluminum
Nickel
Cobalt

Work temperature

From -250ºC to 425ºC

Advantages

High level of magnetic induction
Stability at extreme temperatures
Outdoor application in small places

Advantage

The magnetic bases of Alnico are composed of aluminum, nickel and cobalt. This type of magnet has a high remaining induction, a low coercivity and great stability at extreme temperatures. It is mainly used in measuring devices and magnetic field detection systems. The manipulation of the Alnico bases can only be carried out during the casting process. The orientation of the material is carried out during the heat treatment, obtaining a magnetic field with the direction of magnetization defined.

Work temperature

The bases of Alnico are the magnets with greater temperature range, since it collects from -250ºC to 425ºC, with high inductive level, reaching a Curie point of 850ºC.

Applications

The high temperatures at which alnico magnets can work, together with their thermal resistance and high strength, open up a wide range of possibilities in different industrial sectors. Being a perfect alternative to materials such as neodymium or ferrite.
